Editorial Review 11/01/2015 Review Rating: 5 stars! Reviewed By Jack Magnus for Readers' Favorite Sheri-Lynn Kenny's educational picture book for children is a marvelous introduction to environmental issues for young readers. It has bold and brightly colored illustrations. Her characters are marvelous heroes, and their scheme for stopping the monsters in their tracks is both funny and inspiring. The writing and the very eloquent illustrations make it a perfect selection for storybook time. It's most highly recommended. Official Review by Tanaya 30 Oct 2015, 4 out of 4 stars Review The illustrations are vividly colored and the book is beautifully formatted. It's just as much fun to look at as it is to read. The writing uses an innocent lens to explore important issues. The book is more focused on big themes and delivering its overall message. This book teaches kids about standing up for what they believe in, what to do if things don't go according to plan, and that change isn't an all-around bad thing. I'd recommend this book to parents who want to teach their children about adapting to change.

The challenge in writing for the very young reader is at least threefold: to provide a story line accessible and meaningful to the child; to “verbalize” the story in such a manner that the child is concentrating on movement rather than concepts; and to provide the basic images from which the child may fully indulge his/her imagination – in other words, to bring the images to life. Sheri-Lynn Kenny checks off these boxes in a most creative and unique manner in her children’s book: The Adventures of Digbee – The Mud Flat Bullies. But where Sheri-Lynn Kenny shines in The Adventures of Digbee is in the perfectly appropriate artwork that comprises her well-told story. As basic as any three-year old’s artful renderings, but subtly detailed in its comprehensive artistry, especially in the postures and expressions of its many characters, Ms. Kenny creates images to magically beguile and entice any attentive child. And that is what makes this little book a gem.
